Busy Travel Baseball/Softball Weekend For Area Teams

The Salem 8u Lady Cats were 2nd in the Salem Tournament in girl’s softball.  South Central Storm won the tournament going undefeated.  In the opening game, Alexis Henseler, Skylar Gaston and Juliette Scarlett had multiple RBI.  In Game 2, Gaston doubled and drove in 4 runs.  Landry Rose, Gaston, Clara Crompton, Gwen Goostree, Jayla Tabor, Henseler, Julianna Rushing and Abbi Haines had multiple hits.  Tabor had 4 hits including a double in the 3rd game.

The Salem 8u baseball team also hosted a tournament with the 618 Express Blue winning and the Carlyle Cannons were 2nd.

The Salem 10u went 2-2 at the Vandalia Tournament over the weekend losing in the semifinals on Sunday to eventual champ South Central 17-2.  They beat the Carlyle Mudcats 10-4 on Saturday and again 15-0 on Sunday.  They also took another 18-6 loss to the Storm Chasers in pool play.

The Storm Chasers got a 2-run hit from Jayden Gullion in the 4th inning to give SC a 5-4 victory over Vandalia in the championship.  Luke Doehring threw a complete game in the win.

The Salem 11u finished 2nd at the Mount Vernon Tournament.

The Salem 12u won the Salem Tournament held at the Complex over the weekend.
