Taylen Mosley missing updates — Toddler found as affidavit reveals horror details in double murder

AN affidavit providing details on Taylen Mosley's tragic death has revealed new information on the horror double murder of the toddler and his mother, Pashun Jeffrey.

An arrest affidavit obtained by the St. Petersburg Police Department said that Pashun was found with over 100 stab wounds.

Investigators also found a bloody fingerprint on a bottle of cleaning solution, allegedly matching the identity of Thomas Mosley, Taylen's father.

The missing two-year-old's body was discovered inside the mouth of an alligator Friday afternoon, police said.

The affidavit has clarified that Mosley allegedly brought Taylen to a lake in St. Petersburg, Florida to place his body.

The suspect, who had injuries on his wrists and arms, went to his mother's residence on Wednesday at 9pm, after which he checked himself into the facility, where he stayed through Friday night.

Taylen’s body was received intact

Chief Anthony Holloway said officers were able to retrieve Taylen’s body intact after firing a round at the alligator in Lake Maggiore near Del Homes Park.

“It is with great sadness that Taylen Mosley has been found,” Holloway said.

Taylen’s mother stabbed ‘multiple times’

Taylen Mosley’s mother, 20-year-old Pashun Jeffrey, was found dead in their St. Petersburg apartment Thursday.

Police say she was stabbed “multiple times.”

Chief Holloway previously said: “I can tell you it was a very violent homicide scene within the apartment.”

Mugshot of Taylen’s father released

On Saturday morning, the court records were updated to include the mugshot of the 21-year-old man who is suspected of killing his child’s mother and his two-year-old child.

Once Taylen Mosley, the father of Thomas Mosley, who had been missing since Friday night, was discovered dead, Thomas Mosley was apprehended and lodged in the Pinellas County Prison.

Family members speak out

Family members of Taylen and his mother spoke to WESH, a local NBC affiliate on the tragic incident.

Lakita Denson said: “He’s always calling his mom on his cell phone,”

“He miss his mom, they calling each other all the time. She really loved Taylen.”

Theo Brickhouse-Sails added: “We just want to say that Taylen is a beautiful little boy. He’s really loving and caring.”

Evidence that led to the charge

St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway told reporters at a press conference on Friday that police arrested Thomas Mosley after his son Taylen’s body was found in an alligator mouth.

Police found a blood trail near Taylen’s mother’s vehicle and revealed Thomas showed up at his mother’s house with cuts on his arm at 9pm Wednesday before admitting himself to a hospital.

Police arrested Mosley on Friday and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder.

It is unclear whether Taylen died before or after he went into the lake.

Drones and divers used in search

Police Chief Holloway said at a press conference Friday that drones were doing a grid search in the air while dive teams searched all nearby ponds.

K9 units were also used in the search for Taylen Mosley.

Family describes Taylen’s mother Pashun

Pashun Jeffrey’s family described her, saying that she was always smiling and joking around.

The family added she was 20 and a loving woman who loved her baby.

They added its the first month that she was living in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Uncertainty surrounds Taylen’s cause of death and if the alligator was a factor in his demise.

“We are sorry it has had to end this way,” Chief Holloway said.

Thomas Mosley, the boy’s father, was detained and charged with murder after the corpse of Mosley was found, along with Jeffrey.

According to Holloway, the suspect, who had injuries on his wrists and arms, went to his mother’s residence on Wednesday night at 9pm.

After that, he checked himself into the hospital, where he stayed through Friday night.

Chief Holloway said that “the father is not talking to us.”

A few miles away from Taylen’s home, cops saw an alligator in Lake Maggiore “with an object in its mouth,” St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said.

When authorities made the grim realization that the object was a toddler, an officer shot the alligator who then dropped the body.

“We were able to retrieve Taylen’s body intact,” the chief said.

And the alligator was euthanized later on.

More affidavit revelations

Arrest affidavits from the St. Petersburg Police Department filled in some gaps in the case surrounding Taylen and his mother's death.

Investigators allegedly found a bottle of cleaning solution with a bloody fingerprint belonging to Thomas Mosley.

The solution was hidden under the bed and a bloody shoe print with a Gucci logo was found in the room where police uncovered Pashun Jeffrey's body.

Jeffrey and Taylen last appearance

Pashun Jeffrey and Taylen Mosley were last seen together at Jeffrey's apartment celebrating Thomas Mosley's birthday.

They were last seen on Wednesday at 5.15pm when Jeffrey's family left the party, leaving her alone with Mosley.

Mosley wasn't seen again until a few hours later when he arrived at his mother's house with gashes on his hands and arms.

The party took place at Pashun Jeffrey's apartment.

Inside the timeline

Pashun Jeffery and Taylen Mosley were last seen by family members around 5.20pm Wednesday, according to law enforcement.

Police reported, around 8.30pm, neighbors heard a loud commotion near their apartment but were not contacted at the time.

Jeffery’s mother contacted the apartment complex property manager after not hearing from her daughter.

Officers arrived at the apartment in what police chief Holloway described as “a very violent crime scene.” 

An affidavit released on Friday night confirmed Jeffrey was found with 100 stab wounds.
