A Missouri teen is accused of shooting a man at least 14 times and then concealing his body in an air mattress.
Jackson Pierce, 18, was charged with murder for shooting 23-year-old Dalton Coleman during an altercation at a home in St. Peters on Monday evening, the probable cause affidavit obtained by The Post revealed.
Pierce and Coleman spent time together on Monday along with a third, unnamed person, who is listed as a witness, and an unnamed juvenile, according to the court documents.
The witness eventually left the trio at the St. Peters house that evening, but later received a call from Pierce claiming that Coleman was exhibiting “erratic behavior” and asking for “unknown belongings.”
The witness then tried to calm down both men, and asked Pierce to move some “items of value, including a firearm” from the kitchen to a bedroom, the affidavit said.
A few minutes later, Pierce called the witness back, and allegedly confessed to shooting and killing Coleman.
When the witness asked what happened, Pierce claimed that Coleman had forced his way into the bedroom and tried to punch him, prompting a struggle over the gun.
“The witness stated that Pierce informed him during the struggle, [Coleman] was shot. The witness stated that Pierce informed him that the victim was shot 3-4 times but did not go down so Pierce continued to shoot the victim,” the document explained.
In total, Pierce told the witness he believed he shot Coleman 14 times.
When the witness told Pierce to contact police, the teen allegedly declined.
The witness then reached out to their counsel, and contacted the St. Peters Police Department.
A SWAT unit subsequently responded to the home, and arrested Pierce and the juvenile at the scene.
“Dog, I shoulda f–kng called the cops myself, I shoulda called the cops myself, bro…I am dumb as f–k,” Pierce allegedly said while sitting in the police car.
Authorities eventually used a drone to search the inside of the house, and found Coleman’s body inside “a rolled-up air mattress that had been tied tightly and wrapped with a piece of an electrical cord inside of an upstairs bedroom closet,” the affidavit stated.
“lt was later discovered that victim 1 ‘s corpse had been placed inside of the air mattress with a white plastic garbage bag secured around his head with an electrical cord which was cut from [a] nearby lamp,” the write-up added.
During his interview with police, Pierce confessed that he and the juvenile attempted to clean up evidence of the shooting “using towels and dish soap on the carpet.”
Initial autopsy results confirmed that Coleman died from approximately 15 gunshot wounds to his abdomen, hand, and face, authorities said.
Pierce is now facing charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence, the court documents revealed.
He remains in jail on a $1 million cash-only bond.
The juvenile is also still in custody.
Pierce’s next bond hearing is set for Jan. 17.
Coleman’s death comes less than one year after he welcomed a son, social media tributes indicated.
“This is literally a nightmare I can’t wake up from,” the mother of Coleman’s child wrote in a Facebook update Wednesday, alongside photos of the couple in happier times.
“Justice needs to be served,” she wrote above a separate post of Pierce’s mugshot.
