Titans compete at St. Peter Invitational

Monday evening, the Tri-City United track and field team traveled to St. Peter to compete in an invitational featuring Belle Plaine, Marshall, Minnesota Valley Lutheran, M/T/GHEC/ML, GFW and the host Saints. As a team, the Titan girls earned fourth with 111.25 points while the boys finished sixth with a score of 38.

Highlights for the girls began in the 100 meter dash where Alexis Marcussen earned sixth with a time of 14.07. In the 200m dash, Kaitlyn Hartwig finished second with a time of 28.02.

Carly Hartwig finished first in the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.29 and in the 3200m run, Lillian Rondorf finished sixth with a time of 13:31.44. In the 100m hurdles, Khloe Flicek finished sixth with a time of 17.93 before she then finished second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 51.47. Jillian Houn claimed fifth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 54.36.

The 4x200m relay team of Houn, Guadalupe Lopez, C. Hartwig and K. Hartwig finished second with a time of 1:50.48. Yazmin Ruiz joined the Hartwig’s and Lopez to take third in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:15.20 p.m.

Field highlights began with Kaylee Harkins earning fifth in the shot put with a top throw of 28 feet and three inches. In the high jump, Kristin Siebsen claimed fourth with a top clear of 4’8”.

Sophia Smith finished sixth in the pole vault with a clear of 8’. In the long jump, Flicek (14’10.5”) finished fifth while Marcussen (14’10”) finished sixth. In the triple Jump, Houn (33’4.5”), Marcussen (33’2”) and Flicek (32’0.25”) finished second, third and sixth respectively.

Boys highlights included a fifth-place finish for Goi Ruei in the 800m run with a time of 2:07.42. In the 3200m run, Grant Fitterer claimed sixth with a time of 11:13.03.

The 4x800m relay team of Gavin Phelps, Fitterer, Eli Viskocil and Ruei claimed third with a time of 9:01.28. In the pole vault, Viskocil finished sixth with a top clear of 9’6”.

Lucas Holicky finished fifth in the long jump with a top mark of 17’11”.

TCU is scheduled to return to action Thursday, April 25, when the team travels to Jordan to compete in another invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
