SAINT PAUL, Minn. (USD) – St. Thomas rallied from a three-run deficit to hand South Dakota a 6-5 setback on Sunday and finish off a sweep of the three game Summit League series at South Field.

The Tommies chipped away at a 5-2 deficit by scoring one run in the third, one in the fifth and then two in the sixth, handing the Coyotes let another opponent last at bat loss in Summit League play.

Kenzie Miller, one of four St. Thomas seniors celebrating senior day, delivered the game-winning two-run single with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning.

South Dakota plated two runs in the top of the first inning as Alexia Terrazas lined a two-out, two-run single to left field to plate Alivia Conte and Delaney White .

St. Thomas evened things in the bottom of the first inning taking advantage of a Coyote error coupled with a RBI groundout off the bat of Laken Lienhard and a steal of home from Kaitlyn Raymond.

The Coyotes tallied three runs in the top of the third, taking a 5-2 lead, as Terrazas knocked in White on a groundout before Abi Brown came through with a big two-out, two-run double over the centerfielders head.

White had three of the Coyotes nine hits in the game and scored two runs while for the second straight game Clara Edwards had a single, drew a walk and was hit by a pitch.

Christina Crawford was the beneficiary of the run support as she posted her fifth straight complete game victory and the Tommies moved above .500 in league play at 8-7.

South Dakota, meanwhile, falls to 19-28 overall and 4-10 in Summit League play, and will have a weekend off before closing the regular season at home against North Dakota State on May 3-4.
