STATE COLLEGE/DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ) — TruCare, a medical facility with locations in State College and in DuBois helps individuals in the community in regards to matters with internal medicine and infectious diseases. May is Hepatitis Awareness Month, so bringing awareness to the condition is important. To help combat the stigma, and educate us about the testing and treatment options, Kathryn Bizzak, a Nurse Practitioner stopped by to share more. Kathryn demonstrated how a test is done instantly on our host, Morgan Koziar. One of the big misconceptions about the disease is that it’s fatal, however, with proper treatment, many patients can get a cure for Hepatitis C.
