Man shot and killed in Bottom Line Bar & Grill parking lot

ST. LOUIS – Violence overnight in south St. Louis after a man is found shot and killed near a popular Soulard landmark.

It all unfolded basically at South 7th Street and South Broadway right across the street from the historic Soulard Farmers Market. The crime scene was focused on a parking lot just outside the Bottom Line Sports Bar and Grill, which is located in the Kosciusko neighborhood.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation into this case.

Wednesday morning, police have identified the victim as 31-year-old Jamal Perkins of south St. Louis.

Authorities told FOX 2 that a city park ranger heard shots being fired and was the first to find Perkins suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the parking lot. This all happening just after 12:30 a.m. Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s understood multiple loved ones of Perkins showed up at the scene after learning about what happened. Right now, police are trying to piece together the facts of what led to the shooting. Authorities shared that to this point no suspects are in custody.

There are surveillance cameras on the building next door facing the parking lot. A worker from a business there said the cameras are working and police may look at the images to see if they can assist in the investigation.
