Two Businesses Cited for Selling Tobacco to Minors

Mayor Lora Vitek, acting as Liquor Control Commissioner, enforced local tobacco ordinances for two local businesses cited for selling tobacco/alternative nicotine products to minors.

The citations were considered at the May 15, 2023, hearing of the St. Charles Liquor Control Commission. The Commission considers alcohol, tobacco, and massage license issues. The following businesses were required to submit a $250 fine and $500 in court costs:

  1. Meijer Great Lakes, Ltd., d/b/a Meijer Express Gas Station, 855 Randall Road, St. Charles, IL 60174
  1. St. Charles Tobacco 108, Inc. d/b/a Tobacco Square, 2075 Prairie St., St. Charles, IL 60174

“The City will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to enforcing underage tobacco/alternative nicotine violations,” said Mayor Vitek.
