Great Falls High to roll out first class of Legacy Association hall of fame in fall
Planning for a Great Falls High hall of fame has been in the works for years, and this fall, the wait is over. The school plans to unveil its inaugural class of the Great Falls High School Legacy Alumni Association with a series of events to cap off Homecoming week on Oct. 2-3. Great Falls High initially planned to roll out its hall of fame by honoring around 20 star athletes from years’ past, but has since expanded its mission. The first class of the Legacy Alumni Association will honor 49 graduates who have made an impact through service, culture, the arts and athletics. Great Falls High's Jace Komac the Tribune's Comeback Athlete of the Year
A little over five months separated the unthinkable for Jace Komac and the realization of a lifelong dream. The goal of a state wrestling championship seemed impossible for the star Great Falls High athlete as he writhed in pain on the Memorial Stadium turf on that September night last fall. Little did anyone know he would be on his feet with his hand raised in front of thousands in mid-February. Great Falls High's Cael Floerchinger the Boys' 2025-26 Athlete of the Year
As a newly crowned three-time state wrestling champion, Cael Floerchinger was already in good company. With his third straight title in February, Floerchinger became one of only 130 grapplers to achieve the feat in the nearly 70-year history of the sport in Montana, as well as the 10 th in the storied history of the Great Falls High program. But how many, if any, can say they’ve won a state championship and a club national title in a two-month span? Following the MHSA season, Floerchinger competed again at the National High School Coaches Association Nationals tournament in Virginia Beach, winning the 126-pound division among a field of over 130 high school juniors from across the United States.
