The Royals football team fell to the Eagles in Eden Valley, Friday, Sept. 29. It was a very rough first quarter, as Royalton allowed 30 points in the first quarter alone, putting themselves in a big hole early. They were unable to dig themselves out, falling 42-6.
The lone score for the Royals came on defense, in the second quarter. Eli Psyck stepped in front of a pass and took it 70-yards the other way for a pick six.
Offensively, the Royals couldn’t get anything going. They recorded just 45 yards, all on the ground. Ethan Block had all of the positive yards, rushing for 61 yards on 11 carries.
The Eagles offense had their way with the defense, totaling 312 yards. They ran for 161 and threw for 151. Royalton allowed the opposing QB to complete 9-of-13 passes and throw two touchdowns. On the ground, Royalton allowed three touchdowns.
Psyck led the team in tackles, recording six total. Block finished second in tackles, recording three, and Ethan Albright finished with two. Brady Yourczek recovered a fumble, as well.
After a rough performance, the Royals fell to 1-4. They take on St. Cloud Cathedral at home, Friday, Oct. 6.
