ROXBURY, NJ - Roxbury residents are gathering their American flags and other patriotic gear in preparation for June 29, when they'll head to Shore Hills Country Club in Landing to cheer for military veterans as they arrive on the annual Lake Hopatcong Veterans Cruise.

All residents are invited to attend the fun and rewarding event. Those who come can waive flags, hear patriotic music and cheer for the veterans when Miss Lotta - a 57-foot Skipperliner - makes a stop at the club's dock at about 12:30 p.m.

The event is rain or shine.

Roxbury’s 5-minute tribute to the veterans will feature Landing resident and Roxbury High School 2022 graduate Miah Moore singing “God Bless America.” Also, Roxbury Fire Co. 2 will have a truck doing a water salute.

Roxbury Mayor Jaki Albrecht and Deputy Mayor Shawn Potillo will lead the festivities. The bigger the crowd, the better the show of support and appreciation for our veterans, urged the township.

Attendees are asked to arrive no later than 12:15 p.m. at the Shore Hills Country Club Beach and proceed to the dock area. Parking is available along the beach fence on Mt. Arlington Blvd., at the nearby Rich Zoschak Park (83 Vail Road) and at the Shore Hills Country Club banquet hall parking lot (8 Morse Place).
