Major 2-Vehicle Traffic Collision Leaves 2 Drivers Hospitalized

Rowland Heights, Los Angeles County, CA: Two drivers were hospitalized after a serious two-vehicle traffic collision left one trapped Friday morning, May 5, at approximately 12:17 a.m.

Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers along with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with one person trapped inside a vehicle which was starting to catch fire at South Fullerton Road and Sunrise Drive in the area of Rowland Heights.

Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located two vehicles with major damage and one person trapped. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut off both driver side and back passenger side door to free the driver from the mangled vehicle.

Both drivers of the vehicles involved, were transported to Pomona Valley Hospital in unknown conditions.

It is unknown if speed and/or wet roads were factors involved in the crash.

The CHP Santa Fe Springs Station will be handling the investigation into the cause of the traffic collision.
