2. Tucker community supports Sherry’s Produce family after medical emergency
🍎 Everyone in Tucker and beyond knows and loves Sherry’s Produce – not only because of the fresh fruits and vegetables, pumpkins and Christmas trees, but also the engaging personalities of everyone who works there, from Uncle Wayne to Sherry’s daughter, Tina Harvey.
The Tucker community is now showing their love financially for Sherry’s husband, Junior Harris, who suffered a major stroke last week that resulted in paralysis on his left side. Harvey reported that while Harris can’t move his left side, he does respond to touch, an encouraging sign.
As this goes to press, a GoFundMe page for Junior has garnered more than $15,000, funds that will be used for a 16-day stay in a rehabilitation facility. The total, however, is expected to exceed $40,000.
⚱️ Death is a funny thing, a fact that “His Three Daughters” (written and directed by Azazel Jacobs) often takes literally.
The dynamics between the three sisters referenced in the title play out in a way that is comically – sometimes frustratingly – familiar to anyone with a sibling as they wait for their father to pass away. Jacobs walks a taut line, the film’s emotions – anger, joy, sadness – all floating together in a jumble, one threatening to overtake the other at any given moment.
“His Three Daughters” is grounded in the messiness of that feeling, but also in the complex relationships between its three leads, all faced with the prospect of losing the one thread that binds them – and terrified of what comes afterward. Through his finely tuned handling of emotion, and with three stellar performances at the film’s center, Jacobs delivers a meditation on death and connection that rings painfully, lovingly true.
