A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 280 in Essex County early Wednesday, prompting the closure of all highway lanes for a short time, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. west of Exit 4, Eisenhower Parkway and County Road 609 in Roseland, according to 511nj.org.

All lanes were closed in both directions for up to 20 minutes so a helicopter could land to transport the injured, the website said.

A second crash occurred in Bergen County shortly before 9 a.m. on Interstate 80 East at Exit 66 and Hudson Street in Hackensack. Traffic was backed up in the area as two left lanes were closed according to 511nj.org.
