According to the department, hydrant flushing will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week.
The department said in a press release,
The Fire Department realizes that hydrant flushing may cause some inconvenience, however, the flushing program is necessary to ensure the proper functioning and delivery of adequate water from the water mains when needed for fire control. The community’s cooperation with this hydrant-flushing program is appreciated.
RFD says customers may experience low water pressure or discolored water during the flushing process. While the water is safe to drink, RFD recommends customers to wait until water runs clear before drinking, washing clothes, or washing dishes.
