RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Officers responding to a burglary report at a Long Island drug manufacturing facility Wednesday arrested the owner after search dogs found a working methamphetamine lab, police said.

Matthew Leshinsky, the lab's owner, contacted 911 at 3:30 a.m. to report the burglary at Quantitative Laboratories on Pond Road in Ronkonkoma.

Searching the building, the department said Fifth Precinct patrol officers "observed what they believed to be machinery and chemicals consistent with manufacturing methamphetamine."

Significant quantities of solid and liquid methamphetamine, ketamine and cocaine were confiscated from the premises, along with about $40,000 in cash.

Leshinsky, 23, of Levittown, was arrested after a joint investigation by detectives with the Fifth Squad, arson and narcotics squads, as well as New York State Police and the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Leshinsky was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.
