These NY nursing home residents re-created 7 Taylor Swift albums: See the photos
There are a few Swifties at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rome.
Coming off Taylor Swift's recent performance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, residents at The Grand let their creativity soar as they re-created the singer’s iconic album covers as part of the facility’s activities department.
From "Fearless" to "1989" to "Lover," the residents had fun re-creating these covers, adding their own charm and personality.
“The idea originally stemmed from the Taylor Swifts tour coming nearby this [past] weekend,” said Leigh Nicholas, the recreation director at The Grand. “We thought it would be a really fun way for our guests at The Grand at Rome to get creative, get dolled up, feel good about themselves, and really just have a good time. We’re always coming up with fun, new ideas for our residents.”
Officials at The Grand said the project fostered a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among the women, forming friendships and strengthening bonds.

The album covers and the ladies featured on them were as follows — residents declined to give their last names:
- Speak Now: Deb, age 71
- Lover: Patricia, age 78
- 1989: Julia, age 78
- Evermore: Gail, age 79
- Fearless: Deb, age 71
- Reputation: Midge, age 85
- Red: Julia, age 78
Nicholas said the Swift cover art idea was an offshoot of The Grand’s annual glamour shots program, where residents get their hair and makeup done for day-long photos shoots. The residents love it, and their family and friends enjoy the photos of their loved ones, she added.
Nicholas said Swift was an easy pick, given her creativity, fun and kindness.
Officials at The Grand are not ruling out doing a similar event in the future, this time perhaps including the male residents.
“I’m hoping this opens a whole new level of creativity and ideas,” Nicholas said. “Maybe we can give the men their chance to shine next. Watch out, Harry Styles!”
