Historical Tour Of Lake Wawasee Set For May 16
Chautauqua-Wawasee and the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum are once again teaming to offer a historical tour of Lake Wawasee. Local historian Ann Garceau will narrate the cruise around the lake highlighting various “Points of Interest” aboard the SS Lillypad II. Potential hard freeze threatens budding plants
Rick Meyer still recalls the problems caused by frost during the 2012 growing season. The co-owner of Orchard Hill Farms in Kendallville says that this past winter reminded him of 2012 – “We had a warm winter, no frost on the ground, and then the last week of March we had – 8 days, 9 days in the 70s, and the trees actually bloomed one month earlier than they should have – they bloomed in the 2nd week in April. Then we had frost in April – cold nights — and it damaged the crop severely.”
Historic Auburn Hotel demolition begins
AUBURN, Ind. (WPTA) - Demolition began at the historic Auburn Hotel on Monday. All businesses left the building, which was built in the 1890s, earlier this month. Officials say the hotel will likely be replaced with a residential living space.
