Big East 2A/3A Conference baseball, softball tourneys start Monday

The Big East 2A/3A Conference will hold baseball and softball tournaments beginning on Monday at the higher seeded teams.

Bunn and Northern Nash tied for the top spot in the baseball race but the Wildcats took the No. 1 seed based on tiebreakers.

Southern Nash is the regular-season champion and No. 1 seed in the softball bracket.

The tournaments begin on Monday, continue Tuesday and conclude Thursday with the championships at the high seeds.

Monday, April 29

• No. 7 Rocky Mount at No. 2 Northern Nash (7 p.m.)

• No. 6 Southern Nash at No. 3 Roanoke Rapids (7 p.m.)

• No. 5 Nash Central at No. 4 Franklinton (7 p.m.)

Tuesday, April 30

(Semifinals)

• Franklinton/Nash Central winner at No. 1 Bunn (7 p.m.)

• Southern Nash/Roanoke Rapids winner vs. Rocky Mount/Northern Nash winner at higher seed (7 p.m.)

Thursday, May 2

(Championship)

• Highest remaining seed will host (7 p.m.)

Monday, April 29
