SOCCER ROUNDUP: RMA cruises past Spartans, now 13-0

The Rocky Mount Academy girls remained unbeaten (13-0) with a 10-1 victory at home over Kerr Vance Academy on Tuesday in a Carolina Independent Conference match.

Isabella Daza collected three goals for the Eagles (8-0 in conference) while Millar Berry and Taylor Carmichael provided two goals each and Jenna Crowder, Hannah Garris and Britt Gaynor also had goals.

Daza also dished out three assists, while Berry and Chloe Achilles each tallied two assists and Grace Bone and Ava Swanner provided one assist each.

Northern Nash 9, Bunn 0

Northern Nash rolled to another shutout as the Knights eased past Bunn in a Big East 2A/3A Conference match on Tuesday at home.

Northern improved to 7-0 in the Big East and 11-3 overall with its fifth win in a row. The Knights scored eight times in the first half and once in the second half. NN has won eight of its last nine matches.

Bunn dropped to 0-8 in the league and 2-8 overall.

Ava Lloyd scored three goals for Northern Nash. Keilana Tafili and Addison Shook assisted on two of them.

Others with goals included Daijah Infranco (assist by Tafili), Esther Edgerton (assist from Hayden Bellamy), Elisabeth Modlin (assist from Aubrey Freeman), Shook (assist from Tafili), Azelah Williams (assist from Tafili) and Bailey Powell (assist from Shook).

Roanoke Rapids 4 Southern Nash 2

Casey Neal recorded a hat trick and Kara Baird added the other goal as Roanoke Rapids upended Southern Nash in a Big East 2A/3A Conference match in Bailey on Tuesday night.

The Firebirds fell to 5-3 in the conference and 10-4 overall, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 6-2 in the league and 9-2-1 overall.

FCS 1, Oakwood 0

Faith Christian School scored the lone goal in the second half to edge Oakwood in a Carolina Independent Conference match at home on Tuesday.

The Patriots improved to 6-2 in the CIC and 6-7 overall, while the Eagles fell to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the league.
