Police: Rockford man wanted for 2022 homicide arrested in Florida

A Rockford man wanted in connection to a 2022 homicide has been taken into custody in Florida.

Rockford police announced 29-year-old Dylan Denham was arrested Thursday.

Denham was wanted in connection with an April 2022 fatal shooting in the area of 11th Street and 6th Avenue. Deontay Turner, 20, died in the shooting.

Denham was charged with first-degree murder.

Denham is currently being held in the Lee County jail in Ft. Myers, Florida, police said.

There's no word on when Denham will be brought back to Rockford.
