The Rochester girls golf team did its best to get in ahead of the rain Wednesday, and beat Black Hills 39-30.

“We had great weather to start and got rained on a little bit in the middle, but I’m really proud of the way our girls navigated the course and how it turned out,” Rochester coach Brian Keese said.

Isabella Masias led the way for the Warriors, putting up 17 points under the Stableford scoring system.

“Her whole game is really starting to come together this year as a junior,” Keese said.

Audrey Williams had 10 points behind Masias, Cassey Arreglado had seven, Serenity Hurst scored four, and Elaine Slifer scored one.

Mayah Hamilton led Black Hills with nine points, Grace Hurly and Melody Hackworth both had seven, Emily Victory scored four, and Ellie Johnson rounded out the Wolves’ card with three.

Rochester is scheduled to be back at Riverside Golf Course next Monday to face Centralia, while Black Hills will take on Tumwater at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
