ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — First responders came to the rescue of a driver and some dogs that were in a three-car collision on Chestnut Street.

Rochester police said the driver of a Chevy hit an eastbound car, which led to the Chevy then hitting a parked car and rolling onto its side. The driver, a dog, and puppies were rescued from the car.

The driver, a woman in her 40s, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Animal Control took custody of the dogs inside the vehicle. There were no other injuries reported.

The area of Chestnut Street and Court Street was shut down, but has since re-opened.
