Rochester, N.Y. — Reverend Lewis Stewart, the president emeritus of United Christian Leadership Ministry, has died at age 77 after a long battle with cancer.

Stewart retired just last November as president of United Christian Leadership.
He will be remembered for his lifelong work to eradicate inequalities in the community and speaking out for criminal justice reform.
Services will be held at First Church of God on Clarissa Street. Further details will be announced.
