Two shootings in northeast Rochester leaves one seriously injured

A man suffered serious injuries when he was shot in front of a house on Sixth Street in northeast Rochester on Monday.

According to Rochester police, officers were called to the scene around 3:30 p.m. and found an injured 28-year-old Rochester man nearby on Seventh Street. He was shot at least once and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remained in critical, but stable condition as of Tuesday morning, officers said.

Another shooting occurred in northeast Rochester around 5:45 p.m., as officers were clearing the first incident. A 24-year-old Rochester man was shot in the lower body on Roycroft Drive and was also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police are investigating whether the two shootings were related.

No charges were filed in connection with either shooting.
