Michael Jason Blunt, 25, has been charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, possession of firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in a shooting on April 28 at Dillon Manor Apartments on McKenzie Road in Dillon, according to Dillon Police Chief David Lane.
At the time of the shooting, Blunt was out of jail on a $250,000 bond on charges stemming out of Robeson County, according to court documents.
Police arrested and charged Blunt with two counts of attempted murder last week in connection with a shooting on May 25 in Dillon.
ABC15 found a bond order last week at the Robeson County Courthouse showing Blunt faced charges of attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy, discharging a weapon inside town and assault by pointing a gun in the Red Springs area. The order stated that Blunt was granted bond in January, but under the conditions that he stay away from any victims in the shooting.
His bond order stated that he was part of a pretrial program that allowed him to work in Dillon or Robeson County.
Blunt is scheduled to appear in Robeson County for a status hearing on the charges against him there. It's not clear at this time if he'll make the hearing due to him being held on serious charges in Dillon County.
Blunt's charge of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon in the double murder out of Dillon could potentially lead to federal charges against him.
