The Archdiocese of Mobile Office of Catholic Schools is pleased to announce that Gabriel Campbell has been named the next principal of St. Patrick Catholic School in Robertsdale. St. Patrick Catholic School ministers to students in Central Baldwin County from preschool to eighth grade and Campbell will begin his position for the 2023-24 school year.
Campbell is an experienced Catholic educator, having taught in Catholic schools since 2015.
He currently serves as a middle school Math and Science teacher at nearby St. Benedict Catholic School in Elberta. Campbell also taught middle school students in Mobile and Washington state before arriving in Baldwin County.
Campbell is also a product of Catholic education, earning degrees from three Catholic universities. He received his Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame in 2022, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from the University of Portland (Oregon) in 2017 and Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching from Seattle University in 2014.
He will succeed longtime St. Patrick Principal Sr. Margaret Harte, P.B.V.M., who has served as St. Patrick principal since 1992. She previously announced her plans to retire at the end of this school year.
The Union of the Presentation Sisters have ministered at the school since its inception in 1979 and Sr. Margaret is the last remaining Presentation Sister serving at the school. “Sr. Margaret has been such an incredible blessing to St. Patrick School and Parish. It is hard to close this chapter of our school with Sr. Margaret and the Presentation Sisters. Nobody will ever replace Sr. Margaret and the gift that she has been to our school, but I am confident that Gabriel will be able to lead our school into our next chapter,” said St. Patrick Parish Pastor Fr. Jim Morrison.
