ABC 13 is learning new details after two bodies were found at McAfee Trail on Friday, May 26.
According to Roanoke County Police, they responded to the McAfee Knob trailhead parking lot on Catawba Road at approximately 6 a.m.
Arriving officers found two men dead with gunshot wounds, one of them believed to be self-inflicted.
One of the men was identified as Lewis James Lambert, Jr., 62, of Roanoke. The other was a male juvenile.
In a Wednesday update, at this stage in the investigation, police believe that Lambert killed the male juvenile and then shot himself.
Police said Lambert was a person of interest in an arson investigation in Roanoke City.
The Roanoke County Police Department is working alongside the Roanoke City Arson investigators to provide them with any and all evidence collected from the scene to assist in their investigation.
