Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:
Halifax County Sheriff’s Office
Lieutenant Shane Guyant said on Tuesday members of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office narcotics and criminal investigations divisions assisted the Raleigh Police Department with the apprehension of a wanted fugitive.
The Raleigh Police Department had outstanding warrants on Rodney Jamall Joyner, 26, of Roanoke Rapids for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury, first-degree kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Joyner was located at the Village Grocery gas station at the intersection of Highway 48 and Smith Church Road.
When law enforcement converged, Joyner fled in a pickup.
Joyner was pursued around six miles until he jumped and ran at the end of Straight Road.
After a brief foot chase ensued Joyner was taken into custody.
Upon arrest, deputies located a stolen handgun, marijuana, and over $11,000 inside the truck Joyner was operating.
Additionally, deputies obtained a search warrant for Joyner's residence located at 1131 Carolina Rest Home Road.
During the search warrant, deputies located two other stolen handguns and an AR-15-style rifle from inside his residence.
Additional warrants were obtained by deputies on Joyner for the following:
Four counts possession of a firearm by a felon
Three counts possession of a stolen firearm
Simple possession of marijuana
Felony flee to elude
Joyner was transported to Wake County upon his arrest and is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center without the opportunity for bond.
Halifax County charges were forwarded to Wake County for service.
Roanoke Rapids Police Department
A Weldon man was charged Tuesday morning following a chase that began with an attempted stop for a motor vehicle violation.
Acting Roanoke Rapids police Chief Gorton Williams said Narcotics Agent C. Batchelor was following up on community drug complaints shortly before 11:15 a.m. when he conducted the stop on Dalonte Bradley.
Bradley fled from the stop in his vehicle and a chase ensued which ended outside the city limits on Highway 903. The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
Bradley, who was apprehended and taken into custody without further trouble, faces charges of felony flee to elude arrest, failure to heed blue lights and siren, stop sign violations, careless and reckless driving and a window tint violation.
He received a $5,000 secured bond and March 27 court date.
