Young artist designs newest Ringgold mural supporting mental health and wellness

HOPE Mural

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The HOPE Mural was unveiled today by way of a ribbon cutting.

December through January, Strength for Catoosa held a  mural contest for middle and high school students in Catoosa County.
The contest gave  young artists the chance to have their artwork turned into a mural while working alongside well-known muralist- SEVEN.
The HOPE mural supports efforts to seek change the way people engage with issues of mental health and wellness.
The HOPE Mural contest winner, Chloe Lyles, collaborated with the Artist SEVEN to finalize her design.
The finalized design was painted in April by SEVEN with a little help from the top four student artists.
“We think there is potential impact. When someone is having a hard time. When someone feels like they are ready to give up. They are going to see this and and realize that there is a chance to hold on for hope. We all have that chance. We will be sharing this far and wide as we can, so that as many people as possible can hear that hope,” said Tina Pinkston, Co-Founder Executive Director.

This public mural is located on the side of Jessie Thornton’s United Karate Studio in Ringgold, GA.
