Teen seriously injured in Rincon shooting

RINCON, Ga. (WSAV) — A teenager has been arrested after a shooting Wednesday night in Rincon, according to police.

Rincon Police responded to Crossroads Academy around 7 p.m. where they found a 17-year-old boy shot in a car with serious injuries.

Police determined the shooting took place in the 100 block of Fox Trace in the Ridgewood Subdivision.

The suspect, 17-year-old DaMarion Mapp, was identified a short time later after issuing a search warrant at a house on Fox Trace.

Mapp is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm and sale of marijuana.

Meanwhile, the victim was taken to Memorial Health for treatment and released Thursday morning.
