Woman sentenced to probation for stealing from elderly couple
An Armstrong County woman was called a predator Thursday, Sept. 28, in Butler County Common Pleas Court before she was sentenced for stealing $4,000 from an elderly couple. Tracy Lee Golden, 53, of Kittanning was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation and pay $4,000 in restitution to Clair and Janet DeLair of Center Township after pleading guilty to a felony charge of theft by unlawful taking filed by state police in October 2022.

Vandergrift police say an Armstrong County woman was arrested after an officer saw her buying crack cocaine while parked at a convenience store gas pump. Melissa Elaine Ferraro, 39, of the 100 block of Girty Road in South Bend Township was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver and criminal use of a communications facility along with a count of drug possession and a traffic citation.

KNOX MAN INJURED IN OLIVER TOWNSHIP VEHICLE CRASH
A man was airlifted on Saturday afternoon to a medical facility following a crash on Route 36 in Oliver Township, Jefferson County. Pennsylvania State Police from the Punxsutawney barracks report the driver, 24 year old Ashton Sullinger of Knox, failed to negotiate a left-hand curve causing the vehicle swerve and go off the right-hand side of the road, landing in a ditch. Due to the depth, the driver had to be mechanically extracted and was transported to a waiting LifeFlight unit. He was then flown to Allegheny General Hospital for evaluation of leg and ankle injuries.

Fire destroys building at popular campground north of Pittsburgh
Contributor: KDKA ProducersPORTERSVILLE, PA. (KDKA) - Crews battled a fire at Bear Run Campground in Butler County on Friday morning. KDKA-TV's chopper flew over the scene at the campground on Badger Hill Road in Muddy Creek Township. The building that caught fire reportedly housed a laundry room and an arcade. According to dispatchers, at one point, the building was fully-involved. They had to call in additional tankers to help fight the fire at the campground.
