In the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for the County of Lake, the Defendant, Keith James Carlson, is accused by the Grand Jury for Lake County of the following offense(s): 4 COUNT 1: BURGLARY IN THE SECOND DEGREE (ORS 164.215, Class C Felony) — The defendant, on or about March 5, 2024, in Lake County, Oregon, did unlawtully and knowingly enter or remain in a building located near Mile Post 85 SR-140W Lakeview, Oregon, with the intent to commit the crime of theft therein. The State further alleges that defendant was on supervision (22CR25688) at the time of the current crime. COUNT 2: UNLAWFUL ENTRY INTO MOTOR VEHICLE (ORS 164.272, Class A Misdemeanor) — The defendant, on or about March 5, 2024, in Lake County, Oregon, did unlawfully and with intent to commit the crime of theft, enter a motor vehicle or a part of a motor vehicle. COUNT 3: UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE (ORS 475.894, Class A MIsdemeanor) — The defendant, on or about March 5, 2024, in Lake County, Oregon, did unlawfully and knowingly possess two grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. COUNT 4: CRIMINAL TRESPASS IN THE SECOND DEGREE (ORD 164.245, Class C Misdemeanor) — The defendant, on or about March 5, 2024, in Lake County, Oregon, did unlawtully and knowingly enter or remain in or upon the premises located near Mile Post 85 SR-140W Lakeview, OR. Said acts of the Defendant being contrary to the statutes in such cases made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the State of Oregon. The state further alleges the above listed offenses are of the same or similar character, and/or are based on the same act or transaction, and/or are based on two or more acts or transactions connected together or constituting parts of a common scheme or plan.

‘Greater Idaho’ measure passes in 13th Oregon county
A 13th county voted this month in support of a long-shot effort that would redraw the state lines between Oregon and Idaho. Voters in Crook County, located near the center of Oregon, supported a May ballot measure put forward by the organization known as Greater Idaho. The measure passed with 53% of the vote (or with 5,086 votes) and advised the Crook County Court that voters “support continued negotiations regarding a potential relocation of the Oregon-Idaho border to include Crook County.”

Nine Crook County Cowboys and four Cowgirls competed in the OSAA Class 4A/3A/2A/1A State Tennis Championships, held May 23-25 at Oregon State University. Just one Cowboy and the Cowgirl doubles team were able to win a match in the championship bracket. Victor Covarrubias rolled past Marcus Grimaldo of Four Rivers 6-0, 6-2 in the opening round of the tournament.
