New leadership of nonprofit has familiar face
A former administrator has come full circle by returning to Stone County as the new CEO of a boys academy for troubled teens. Located in Branson West, Ozarks Teen Challenge was founded in 2014 to provide at-risk teen boys, ages 13-17, who have struggled with substance use disorders and other life-controlling issues. According to the academy’s new CEO Mitchell Easter, the 15-month Christ-centered residential program is focused on the personal, social, academic, physical, and spiritual growth of troubled teens.

A new business is cleaning up in Branson West. Dunn-Wright Cleaning LLC opened in February of this year. The Company, based out of Branson West, is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They service the Branson Tri-Lakes area, according to Owners John and Brandi LaRance.
Kimberling City’s Lemoine named Police Chief of the Year
The Kimberling City Police Department Police Chief Todd Lemoine was honored for his achievement and dedication. The Missouri Police Chiefs Association (MCPA) named Lemoine as their 2023 Outstanding Missouri Police Chief of the Year at their annual MCPA conference on April 30, 2024. Lemoine has been the Kimberling City Police Chief since November 2021. At the time, the department was left unmanned after a mass exodus. Lemoine has since built the police department up to a full force with two K-9 officers.
Blue Eye students compete at state meet
Blue Eye Middle School’s Coral Fultz and Kole Turner competed at the 2nd Annual Middle School State Meet at Southwest Baptist University on Saturday, April 27. Fultz finished 1st in the Discus and 3rd in the Shot Put, and Turner finished 2nd in the 100 and 200 and 5th in the 400.
23rd Annual Ozark Mountain Prayer Breakfast
The annual Ozark Mountain Prayer Breakfast took place on Thursday, May 2, at the Branson Convention Center. The gathering brought people from across the entire Ozarks region to spend time in prayer for communities, leaders, students, and religious leaders.
Thousand Hills to host Bobcat Open

I was reading through a Branson centric group on Facebook when I saw a posting from a woman complaining about the rising costs at a food establishment she would visit with her kids. She noted the prices were a lot higher than even a year ago, and that it made it more difficult for her and her family to be able to go out together and patronize this business.
