Lane closures coming to Richmond intersections next week

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The City of Richmond Department of Public Works has announced a series of lane closures coming to various areas of the city starting next week.

The following lane closures will be implemented at several Richmond intersections by the department as early as Monday, April 29:

Lombardy and Chamberlayne

The curb lane and sidewalk at the intersection of Lombardy Street and Chamberlayne Avenue will be temporarily closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, April 29 through Wednesday, May 22.

According to the department, the closure will allow a contractor to install traffic signal equipment, poles, signal controllers, countdown signal heads and push buttons.

Iron Bridge Road and Belmont Road

The curb lane and sidewalk will be temporarily closed at the intersection of Iron Bridge Road and Belmont Road from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting Tuesday, April 30 through Wednesday, May 15.

The closure will allow the contractor to install accessibility ramps, crosswalk markings and make repairs to the sidewalk.

Cary Street and 2nd Street

The curb lane and sidewalk will be temporarily closed at the intersection of Cary Street and 2nd Street from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, April 29 through Tuesday, May 14.

According to the department, the closure will allow the contractor to install various components of traffic signal equipment.
