Gold teeth, fake eyelashes, three curtain rods and a tub of yams — these were among the most unique items Richmonders left in their Ubers last year.

Driving the news: Uber's annual lost-and-found index is out , and the folks at the ridesharing company shared the Richmond-specific items with Axios.

  • These were items left between April 2023 and March 2024.

Why it matters: Everyone forgets things, but Richmond might be the only city in the nation where riders travel with — and forget — their TV remote, Uggs and at least one birth certificate.

Zoom in: Here are the 10 most unique items left by Richmonders, according to Uber:

  • "Gold teeth."
  • "3 curtain rods."
  • "Uggs."
  • "A tub of yams."
  • "Pack of lashes."
  • "Golf clubs."
  • "Birth certificate and paycheck."
  • "Red and white pedometers, they look like poke balls."
  • "Remote control to tv."
  • Oculus VR."

The big picture: But Richmond's got nothing on some of the things folks across the country left behind. A few of our favorites, presented as they were submitted by passengers in the app:

  • "Panty liner and 1000 bucks. That's all I can remember."
  • "Some lotion or my thong."
  • "Benihana garlic butter."
  • "Frontal hair toupee."
  • "A tray of meat pie."
  • "A candle that says 'See you in court.'"
  • "Police-grade handcuffs."
  • "My father's beard softener."
  • "My girlfriend's pregnant pills."

Worth noting: If you or yours left something in your Uber, the company recommends calling your driver to get it back, or check out their help page if you left your phone — the fifth most forgotten item by Richmonders.
