EKU becomes first Kentucky university to accept SNAP benefits on campus
RICHMOND — Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) and Aramark, the school’s food service provider, recently announced that EKU will be the first school in the Aramark Collegiate Hospitality Midwest region with a convenience store (POD) accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. SNAP is a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) program that provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget.

Nicholasville Fire Department employee arrested for hit-and-run in Florida
VOLUSIA CO., Fl (WKYT) - A Nicholasville Fire Department employee and Lincoln County native was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Florida in mid-April. James Eric Lane, 37, of Hustonville, was booked on April 14 in Volusia County Florida, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
