Richmond high-speed chase, manhunt ends with Texas man in custody

RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) — An armed robbery of a discount jewelry and pawn store turned into a high-speed chase and a manhunt.

According to Richmond police, around 2:30 a.m., on Wednesday, 30-year-old Jordan Hall from Keene, Texas, was seen on surveillance tape circling around the parking lot of Dan’s Discount Jewelry and Pawn before slamming the rear of the pickup he was driving into the front of the store.

His arrest citation showed he reportedly took a rifle, Fireball candy, and a guitar and got back in his vehicle. As he was driving off he made a go-cart fall out of the back of the bed of the truck and into the parking lot where it was damaged.

According to the police, the vehicle Hall was driving was reported stolen between 12:30 and 2:30 a.m. that same day that was carrying a go-cart and other miscellaneous items.

The police proceeded to engage in a chase with Hall after he was seen driving at a high rate of speed before turning onto Lancaster Avenue while ignoring multiple red lights.

Another arrest citation of Hall’s showed he reportedly slammed on the brakes of his vehicle and slam into the officer’s vehicle. The officer in pursuit was forced to change lanes and Hall attempted to sideswipe the police vehicle.

The police said they continued chasing Hall as he entered I-75, where he reportedly hit speeds up to 115 mph.

Hall reportedly escaped on foot and a manhunt ensued in the Amster Woods area off Boonesboro Road.

Reports of Hall being spotted in the area prompted Madison County law enforcement and the Lexington Metro Police Department air support helicopter to report to the scene.

An arrest citation of Hall’s showed he had been spotted on a John Deere Gator he had allegedly stolen from a residence on River Hill Drive and he proceeded to drive it to Settlers Trace where he crashed it into the woods and left it.

The police said the gator was recovered and returned to the owner.
