County Veterans Affairs Office, related agencies coordinate Donation Drive, Awareness March
The Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Veterans Coalition of Pennsylvania (VCOP), and the Berks County Office of Veterans Affairs (BCVA) have launched a donation campaign called the “March to End Veterans Hunger and Homelessness” to help Berks County homeless Veterans and Veterans with food insecurity. These groups will collect nonperishable and canned food and donations of new underwear and socks over the next three weeks. The donation campaign culminates in a ruck march for awareness on Saturday, June 8.

Separate Richland warehouse plans proceed
At the May 13 board of supervisors meeting, Richland Township approved two properties zoned Rural Agricultural (RA) to be changed to Planned Commercial (PC). The move was understood to allow for further development of a warehouse proposal that had originally called for seven properties to be similarly changed, toward a much larger warehouse.

Berks County Taco Fest returns to Reading
Berks County's Taco Fest returned Saturday for its 5th year. The event went on despite rainy weather at Quinta las Cabanas Grove in Reading. A wide variety of taco food trucks from around the area were on hand. There was also live music and activities for the kids.
