Hannah-Pamplico belted four home runs and toppled Lewisville, 8-5, in the decisive Game 3 of the SCHSL 1-A state championship series.

It was the first state championship in program history and the Raiders had to overcome losing Game 1.

Payten Poston, Jadan Lee, Chloe Cooper and Isabella Davis blasted the home runs for the Raiders, who finished the season with a 21-5 record. Poston’s long ball gave the Raiders a 4-3 lead in the second inning. It was tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the third before Meredith Stone lofted a sacrifice fly and Davis homered.

Cooper ended up 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and 2 RBIs. Lee went 2-for-2.

Lewisville’s Alyssa Rollings supplied most of her team’s offense on a three-run homer. The Lions wound up with a 27-4 record. Lewisville, which lost to Bamberg-Ehrhardt in the 2022 state championship series, had won 25 consecutive games prior to Game 2 of the state title series.

Hannah-Pamplico freshman pitcher Kadence Poston went the distance, allowing four hits and four earned runs with nine strikeouts.

Lewisville pitcher Sarah Owens hurled a shutout in Game 1 as the Lions claimed a 1-0 win.

Owens was holding down the Raiders again in Game 2 before they finally broke through with four runs in the fourth inning and seven in the fifth to run away with a 11-1 victory to force a third game.

Lee went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and an RBI. Poston was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI while Davis was 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs
