Parents and students are having a dilemma about the poor condition of Fontana High School’s pool. Past meetings with the district and the school about the importance of investing in athletics as a deterrent from drugs has had little effect on the action of improving one of the most outstanding group of athletes at the school — the aquatics team (consisting of water polo and swim).
Multiple incidents hinder Ankrum at Charlotte Motor Speedway
On a special night honoring 2,372 LiUNA! veterans on Memorial Day weekend, Tyler Ankrum would finish 28th after an incident late in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS). The San Bernardino, Calif. native fought a tight handling truck most of the night. Ankrum currently sits 15th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings after 11 events.
Arrowhead CC Owners Will Handle Management Duties at Shandin Hills GC
Mike and Fariel Winn will oversee the daily goings-on at Shandin Hills, the public golf course in San Bernardino, Calif., beginning June 1. Last week, San Bernardino City Council unanimously approved the five-year agreement. Per the pact, the city will use revenues generated by Shandin Hills to pay Local Golf Management, the Winns’ company, a flat monthly rate of $15,000 to run the 18-hole course, 18,500-sq.-ft. clubhouse/banquet hall, and maintenance facility. “Our intention is to get the golf course in way better shape,” says Mike Winn, “and start fixing up cosmetic stuff that’s been let go for a while, try to make the golf course mirror Arrowhead.”

Closing ceremonies for the 2023 Grand Terrace Little League (GTLL) season were held on Monday, May 15th at Veterans Freedom Park. The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its 2023 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, featuring five players from three teams of the University of Redlands. This is the first time these players have been recognized for their performances on the court and in the classroom. The five players are Nina Davis and Emma Beaver from Women's Lacrosse, Hannah Jugar and Andrea York from Women's Golf, and Tori Zielinski from Women's Water Polo.
