A public hearing for the South Fork Crow River One Watershed, One Plan held a public hearing drew a contentious crowd Nov. 27. The meeting’s intent was to present and discuss a draft for a comprehensive watershed management plan for the South Fork Crow River, which covers portions of McLeod, Renville, Meeker, Kandiyohi, Wright, Carver, Sibley and Hennepin counties. However, it turned into an argument with officials about land rights, ditches, freedom and constitutional rights.

(Olivia MN-) Last week, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office completed their 2 nd Annual Sheriff’s Office Food Drive, which supports the Renville County Food Shelf. The Sheriff’s Office coordinates the event with each of the elementary schools in Renville County as well as several churches from throughout the county. This year, actual food items were collected at each school, while monetary donations were collected from participating churches. Like last year’s food drive, the grade or class that brought the most food in each of the schools won a “classroom donut party with the cops”! Similarly, the church congregation that raised the most money for the cause is treated to after-worship coffee and donuts, served by Sheriff’s Office staff.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office completed its second-annual Sheriff’s Office Food drive to support the Renville County Food Shelf.
