An award-winning Reno brewery has expanded into the restaurant business with a new eatery.

Reno brewery makes foray into food

IMBIB Custom Brews, which recently won a World Beer Cup gold medal, last month opened its new restaurant IMBIB Eats & Drinks at the Outlets at Legends in Sparks. On Saturday, June 3, the restaurant will host a grand opening in tandem with IMBIB's 8th anniversary party from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring more than two dozen beers on tap, live music, games and food service all day.

The new menu features foods and flavors commonly paired with beer around the world, from small plates and sausages to entrees and brunch. Some of the items include:

  • Wisconsin cheese curds ($11) and pierogis ($10)
  • Poutine ($14)
  • Various international sausages, including German and Basque ($16-20)
  • Vegan cauliflower steak ($22)

IMBIB will be offering more than 30 beers to pair with the food. The brewery is also releasing several special draft and bottled beers never served to the public.

Nevada's IMBIB Custom Brews builds on a beer-based legacy

IMBIB Custom Brews, a regular winner at American beer festivals, has gained a reputation for bold brews over the last decade. Cofounders Jason Green and Matt Johnson, both homebrewers who turned pro, have been brewing in Northern Nevada since 2012. IMBIB recently won a World Beer Cup gold medal in the experimental wood-aged beer category with its "Golden Fungi" brew. The beer is aged in bourbon barrels and infused with vanilla beans and candy cap mushrooms, which lend a sweet maple flavor to the brew.

“We have been dreaming of pairing our beer with a unique food menu since we first imagined the brewery and now we are finally ready to do just that,” brew master and co-owner Jason Green said in a statement. “We strive to brew a variety of beer styles to please everyone’s palate and are excited to showcase our elevated beer food with the residents of Reno and Sparks."
