The 7th annual Reno Women’s March is happening this Saturday, March 25, and it’s honoring three local women that have impacted our community.
Amanda Davis, Evelyn Mount and Mylan Hawkins are being honored for the services they provided for so many individuals in need and for making a difference in peoples' lives.
This year’s theme is “power of one." The organization aims to bring awareness to the strength the community gains when people come together to address issues.
Last year the organization had a virtual event due to COVID-19 restrictions, and this is the first in-person march since 2018.
The event is set to start at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, marching from the federal building to the Believe Plaza.
Besides the march, important leaders of the community will address the event and representatives from other non-profit organizations will also be present.
Organizers are asking those planning to attend to wear something purple to bring attention to women’s rights.
