The Crozier Fire, burning in El Dorado County, grew to over 1,800 acres Friday morning, with 5% containment.

The blaze 20 miles northeast of Placerville has grown from 67 acres since starting Wednesday morning to its current 1,832 acres.

Cal Fire said 113 engines, 12 helicopters, 13 dozers, 17 water tenders and 31 hand crews with over 1,300 personnel are fighting the blaze burning in a remote part of the El Dorado National Forest.

Elevated fire activity is being caused by hot daytime temperatures, gusty winds and low humidity, Cal Fire said.

Smoke from the Crozier Fire began rolling into the Reno-Sparks area on Thursday with Northern Nevada Public Health's Air Quality Management Division issuing an air quality advisory.

Air quality is expected to hit the moderate level periodically through the weekend, the advisory said. Groups sensitive to air pollution may be affected.

Smoke from the 428,744-acre Park Fire in Chico, California, 150 miles northwest of Reno, will affect central Washoe County through the weekend, the advisory stated. The fire was 34% contained on Friday morning.

Hardly saw any smoke today coming back from Folsom. On Thursday there was a big plume of smoke today that was not visible so I’m praying that that means they’re knocking it down.
