A suspect was shot and killed by officers after a deadly shooting Tuesday night in Reedley.

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Reedley Police officers were called out to 11th Street and North Avenue, as well as 13th and F Streets, around 9:34 p.m. for reports of a man walking around with a gun.

Moments later, officers received reports of a woman, 54, who had been shot in the 100 block of S. East Avenue.

As officers and EMS gave medical aid to the woman, another call came in of a man who had been shot in the 800 block of Evening Glow Avenue.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and performed CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Alfredo Salcedo Cuevas, 52 of Reedley.

Reedley Police then saw a man matching the suspect’s description near Haney and Springfield Avenues.

Officers drove toward the man, but he ran into the Riverland Apartment Complex.

When officers entered the parking lot and got out of their patrol car, the suspect shot at them.

Around 9:55 p.m., three Reedley Police Officers returned fire.

The suspect was hit by gunfire and was later pronounced dead at the complex in a courtyard, and a handgun was found lying next to him.

No officers were injured in the shooting and investigators say they believe the shootings were done at random.

During the officer-involved shooting, police received a call about another man that had been shot in the 700 block of Ponderosa Avenue.

That man, as well as the first woman shot, were both taken to the hospital where they are now in critical condition.

The suspect was later identified as 20-year-old Moises Tellez. It is still unknown if he is responsible for all three shootings, however, deputies say the probability is due to the times and locations of all three.

The three Reedley officers who fired their weapons are now on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.

This marks the city of Reedley's first homicide of 2023.

Reedley Police will handle the investigation of the three shooting victims, and the Fresno County Sheriff's Office will handle the officer-involved shooting investigation.

This is the 4th officer involved shooting investigation the sheriff’s office has conducted since May 3rd. One was for Selma Police, two for sheriff's deputies and now one for Reedley Police.
