REEDLEY, Calif. — A local family is now out $200 after they say they booked with a local DJ and he never showed up to Reedley on Saturday.
Darla Gonzalez and her sister Amanda, are accusing Ruben Zuniga--known as DJ Kali of not paying them back.

“He made up an excuse that, at first it gets to you, because of what he said. He pretty much told us, ‘My dad got in a car accident and he just passed away. I'm at the hospital. He's like, but I'm still coming.' To me like....I lost my mom to cancer. So, like for me? When she passed away, I dropped everything, it didn't care what it was," Gonzales said.
According to Gonzales, the DJ never showed up and never paid them back.
They both say at this point, they hope he pays them back but they don't think he will since he stopped responding to them when they asked for the money.
Now, they just hope to warn others about him so they don't fall victim to him.

Since then, they say they found out on Facebook that another family had booked him for the same day, around the same time.
He canceled on the other family too--providing a different excuse. The other family went to social media to express their disappointment.
“Somebody else had posted it, saying that he didn't show up to their event and they had a baptism event and it was the same day, almost the same hours, but it was 7-11 p.m. and ours was 7:30-11:30 p.m. So, he double booked," she said.
Others have come forward in the comment sections, expressing they have been victimized by the same DJ.
Even though the family's plan did not go as expected, they ended the night with speakers and a small party light the family bought to continue the party.
FOX26 News reached out to Ruben Zuniga for an interview or comment.
He denied an interview and had no comment in regards to using the excuse of his father's death to other victims for not showing up at events.
He says he is planning to pay Gonzalez back but he doesn't know when.
Reedley Police say they were alerted of the service call.
