Two indicted in Martin County

INEZ — Two men were indicted Thursday in Martin County, one on drug-related charges and another on DUI-related charges.

Elijah A. Frye, 40, of Redding, California, was indicted for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, possession/use of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. According to the indictment, Frye was caught March 10 with methamphetamine and a glass pipe used for smoking substances and was in a public place under the influence of a controlled or intoxicating substance.

Martin Circuit Judge J. Kevin Holbrook ordered Frye to appear April 20 for arraignment.

Christopher Maynard, 40, of Lovely, was indicted for driving on a DUI-suspended license, second or greater offense with aggravated circumstances, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, third offense, and no taillamps.

The indictment states Maynard was caught March 4 operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, his third offense within 10 years, and operating the motor vehicle on a DUI-suspended license for the second time in 10 years. The indictment also states Maynard had no rear red lights displayed on the vehicle and he tried to flee from police.

Judge Holbrook ordered Maynard to appear April 20 for arraignment.
