Eight deputies did security walk-throughs in Red River bars, according to Miera.
The sheriff also claimed the town of Red River and its Marshals Office never reached out to him for assistance. Operations plans were also not shared with the Taos County Sheriff's Office, according to Miera.

The sheriff acknowledged in his statement that a lesson can absolutely be learned; however, Miera said he would absolutely not change his actions if he had the opportunity to do it over again.
Red River Mayor Linda Calhoun was mentioned in the statement for her openness to investigate the actions of Miera. He openly invited an investigation and cited the office's transparency and accountability toward the community of Taos County.
Calhoun said she never wanted to investigate the Taos County Sheriff's Office or Miera.
"I said if they want to have a meeting or something we can talk about that," Calhoun said. "I have no intentions of any investigation in the sheriff or his department."
