City councilwoman resigns in midst of ongoing investigation

RAVENSWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A public servant for the City of Ravenswood has submitted her resignation from office as the apparent result of an ongoing investigation.

According to a statement from Ravenswood Mayor, Josh Miller, the resignation of Ravenswood City Councilwoman, Denise Toler was accepted on Friday, April 26, 2024.

The resignation, active effective immediately, also entailed, “resignations from all boards, commissions, and authorities.”

“Her departure is a result of an ongoing investigation,” said Mayor Miller. “We take our values and code of conduct seriously, and we expect all city officials and employees to adhere to these standards.”

The matter for which the investigation is being conducted was not addressed directly in the statement, which continued, “While we cannot discuss specific details of the matter at this time, please know that we have taken appropriate action and reported to the appropriate authorities to address the situation.”

It has been indicated by authorities that no additional information pertaining to the situation is expected to be released at the time of writing.
